Questions and answers

event-faq-1-1

How does MJA teach languages to children?

Language learning at MJA combines formal literacy lessons – such as reading, writing, and phonics – with hands-on and fun activities like storytelling, songs, and role play. This balance helps children learn meaningfully while enjoying the process.

Are both Bahasa Melayu and English used in class?

Yes. We teach in both languages so that all children can understand and feel included. Teachers often use dual-language instructions, especially when introducing new concepts, to support children who may be stronger in one language than the other.

Do you have separate sessions for each language?

Yes, we do. Some sessions focus mainly on Bahasa Melayu and others on English, depending on the skill being developed. This allows children to strengthen both languages equally while recognising how they connect.

What kind of progress can parents expect?

Children gradually build skills in listening, speaking, reading, and writing. Each child develops at their own pace, and teachers provide support according to individual readiness and comfort in both languages.
